Dear Readers,
Even this old wizard must admit—there are still wonders in the modern world that set my imagination dancing like Munchkins at a festival. Just today, while perusing the curious corridors of the interweb (a sort of magic mirror that talks back), I happened upon a delightful creation: LEGO has unveiled a spellbinding new set—Glinda & Elphaba Bookends—inspired by Wicked, that enchanting tale that re-imagined the witches of Oz.
LEGO, bless their plastic bricks and brilliant designers, has crafted something both playful and poignant.

The bookends depict two of the most powerful and misunderstood women in Oz: Glinda the Good Witch, radiant and refined, and Elphaba, the so-called Wicked Witch of the West, defiant and determined. Each stands on her own side of a spellbound bookshelf, framed by glittering towers and vibrant, witchy aesthetics. It’s a study in contrast, yes, but also in companionship. Those who have read Wicked, or seen it on stage, will know that their story is as much about friendship as it is about fate. These bricks build more than shelves—they build bridges between generations, between childhood imagination and adult nostalgia.
So if you’re a collector, a dreamer, or simply someone who has stood between right and wrong and found the truth somewhere in the middle these bookends belong on your shelf. Let them hold up the volumes of your own adventures, magical or mundane.
And to my green-skinned heroine and her pink-gowned counterpart, I say: welcome home.
Yours in whimsy and wonder,
The Wizard
